What is the position of the Ukrainian forces in Kursk and do you have a counterattack? | news

The Ukrainian forces of Kursk are faced with a very difficult military situation because they only control a limited part of the land they had before, after having lost most of their positions in favor of the Russian army.

These forces fight violent battles on the outskirts of the region, in the midst of Russian ardent superiority which prevents them from easily restoring or keeping their heavy equipment.

According to the military and strategic expert, Colonel Hatem Karim al-Falahi, the situation on the ground reflects the tightening of the screws on the Ukrainian forces, because Russia imposes a progressive seat on its units in the region, with the intensification of air strikes to prevent any organized withdrawal.

The military expert explained that Russian leaders declare that withdrawal with heavy equipment is not possible, which places Ukrainian forces before limited options.

These developments arise in the context of the continuation of intense battles on several fronts, while the Russian Defense Ministry announced the drop in dozens of Ukrainian planes in March, and confirmed the release of the two cities of Robancina and Zolika in the province of Cursk.

On the other hand, the Ukrainian army admitted to withdraw from certain sites to restore positioning, while the battles continued in Kharkif in the middle of the growing Russian pressure.

Pressure

Al-Falahi believes that kyiv bet on the battle of Korsk as a means of relieving the pressure on Kharkiv, which is exposed to intense Russian attacks.

He indicates that Ukraine pushed his forces to Kursk to work as the Russian army, which was not dragged to the battle, but continued its pressure on other fronts, which led to the decline of the Ukrainians.

According to Al-Falahi, the losses of Ukraine in these confrontations are high, as Russian estimates indicate that more than 37,000 people have been killed and the destruction of hundreds of Ukrainian tanks and vehicles, and the lack of Western supplies and the inability of kyiv to compensate for its losses increase the difficulty of its position.

Regarding the possibility of a counterattack, Al-Falahi confirms that Ukrainians depend on the strategy of rear strikes, such as targeting of bridges, airports and railways, as well as property incursions.

However, these tactics failed to succeed tangible due to the upper Russian defense capacities, especially in the field of electronic war and confusion on steps and missiles.

Under the suspension of American support, Ukrainian President Folodimir Zellinski promotes the idea of developing local missiles, but he faces technical and logistical obstacles that make the implementation of these short -term plans difficult.

In this context, Al-Falahi believes that any major counter-scale attack needs great military support, which is currently lacking.
