Gas- After learning to close the Bakeries of Gaza Strip, the elderly Zakaria Shaheen rushed to the automatic bakery near his home, he may have been able to buy a small lander to feed his family with 18 individuals. But its continuation of failure.
After some bakery workers asked for the date of reproduction of the work, they replied that the case was linked to the opening of the Israeli occupation of closed passages for about a month.
On the bakery door, Shaheen told Al -jazeera net that he did not expect this sudden decision, which would reflect negatively on the life of his family, adding: “We do not know what we will eat?” He said they depended on buying breads from bakeries, but after closing it, they had no source.
“We do not have the money to buy the flour, and we do not know how we will live with our children … We call on those who have compassionate hearts all over the world to watch our Palestinian people with compassion,” he added.

Star
The head of the “Gaza Strip Bakery Association”, Abdel Nasser Al -Ajrami, warned against a humanitarian disaster that threatens residents of the band after the decision to close the bakeries following the continuous closure of crossings, which has completely led to the weaning of food and fuels.
Al -Ajrami declared, in a special declaration in Al -jazeera Net, that all the bakeries operating in Gaza closed their doors due to the exhaustion of all production requirements.
He explained that the World Food Program, which was financed 23 baked baked in flour, fuel, yeast, salt and sugar, was forced to suspend his work due to the exhaustion of his store and the inability to enter the supplies.
He added: “The program entered the production equipment by level passages, because the occupation prohibits traders and bakeries of direct import, and with the continuous closure of level passages, there is no more horizon for the solution.”

The Gaza Strip needs daily, according to Al -Ajrami, around 450 tonnes of flour, warning that the remaining stocks inside the band will only be enough for a few days.
He concluded his speech by saying that “the continuation of the current situation will lead Gaza towards a realistic famine”.
Israel closed the Gaza level crossings at the beginning of last February, after being evacuated from the implementation of the terms of the ceasefire agreement which he reached with the Islamic resistance movement “Hamas” at the end of last January.

Rare alternatives
After the news of the bakery closure, many residents rushed to try to buy cooking alternatives, such as tabun or pastries calls, which are not a practical alternative due to high prices.
Naseem Al -Saks, a “fashion” bread seller (al -saj bread), says that demand has increased considerably on the purchase of its place, which forced it to close it at midnight last night due to high pressure.
“Nevertheless, this bread is not a real alternative to ordinary bread, because it is more expensive and not everyone can buy it.”
Al -Saks said that bread was sold on the black market at exorbitant prices, in the middle of a complete deficit in the search for solutions.

In front of a store selling Tabun bread, Andra Qandil was waiting for her role to buy a few to feed her family with 9 people. She said to Al -jazeera net that she needed 40 daily breads (normal bread) and after closing bakeries, she must stand for long periods in the queues to obtain tabon bread as a substitute.
“From the start of the war, we find it difficult to take bread, and now we returned to zero point after the bakeries closed. We have no more flour, and its price (the bag with a weight of 25 kilograms) went from 50 to 300 shekels (the dollar: 3.7 shekels), while we have no money at all.”
“Everything has become the most expensive 10 times … No vegetables, no food, no bread … And we don’t know what we will do tomorrow.”

Back to clay ovens
With the continuous closure of automatic bakeries in the Gaza Strip, citizens used the ovens of the mud canal in search of an alternative to bread, which led to severe clutter and long queues in front of these ovens.
Hisham Al -Zaitouniya, the owner of one of the Taboun ovens, told Al -jazeera net that the demand for ovens had increased considerably, because everyone tries to cook the dough manually after the lack of bread on the markets. But the olive explained that the clay ovens also suffer from a lack of firewood to exploit it, which hinders the continuation of the work.
“The Al -Tabon oven needs a lot of time and efforts, and people suffer while waiting for their role in the middle of a strong crowd,” he added.

“No bread or money”
Abu Shanab, mother of 5, says that the closure of the bakeries left families in the face of a suffocating crisis because they can no longer provide bread, while the price of the bag of flour has increased significantly.
“People suffer, she has young children and she cannot buy flour because there is simply neither money nor work. May God be with the help of everyone.”
“The status of people is bad, to close the bakeries at the moment is very bad, that God is the help of people,” she concluded.
