US President Donald Trump called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu – during their White House meeting – to “solve his problems” with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and “act rationally”.
Trump said – in his statements to journalists during his meeting with Netanyahu – about his good relationship with the Turkish president, saying: “I have an excellent relationship with a man named Erdogan, and I love him and he loves me, and that’s what made the media angry.”
He explained that he told Netanyahu that he “loves Erdogan”, and “if he had problems with him, he must solve him”, stressing that “the Israelis should act rationally to solve any problem with Türkiye”.
For his part, the Israeli Prime Minister said that he did not want to use Syria of a game, including Turkey, to launch attacks against Israel, considering that Ankara’s distinctive relations with Washington can help avoid the crisis, as he said.
