Trump is expecting “good” news from Russia and Starmer who doubt the severity of Putin Nouvelles

US President Donald Trump announced that he was expecting “very good” news from Russia, while British Prime Minister Kiir Starmer considered that Russian President Vladimir Putin is not serious about peace with Ukraine.

Reuters quoted Trump saying late Friday evening that his administration had spoken to Putin, expressing his feeling that Moscow would conclude an agreement with him.

He added that he was waiting for “very good” news from Moscow on the ceasefire in Ukraine.

And press agencies quoted the American president saying that Ukraine had accepted the ceasefire, believing that Russia could also be convinced.

Trump explained that his country had “very good” talks with Russia and Ukraine, and that he had received good news in this regard.

The American envoy Steve Witkeov went to Moscow and met Putin after kyiv expressed his will of a 30-day ceasefire.

Putin “is not serious”

Meanwhile, British Prime Minister Starmer accused the Russian president of not seriously dealing with the United States efforts to reach a cease-fire in Ukraine.

A starmer declaration published on Friday evening said that the Kremlin completely ignored President Trump’s proposal on the ceasefire proved that Putin was not serious about peace.

For his part, French President Emmanuel Macron said Russia should accept the agreement proposed for a 30-day cease-fire, submitted by the United States and Ukraine.

Macron added that he had discussed the situation on Friday with the British Prime Minister and Ukrainian President Folodimir Zellinski.

Friday evening, in a photo speech, Zellinski said that he and Macron had discussed “the state of diplomacy, available capacities and technical aspects” to supervise the ceasefire.

Earlier, the Ukrainian president said that a ceasefire with Russia with the help of the United States through satellite and intelligence information could be monitored.

And last Tuesday, the Saudi city of Djeddah witnessed the launch of the American Ukrainian talks led by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and his Ukrainian counterpart André Siega, to discuss a truce between kyiv and Moscow.

After that, the official Saudi media announced the approval by Ukraine of an American proposal for a cease-fire with Russia which will last a month.

Since February 24, 2022, Russia has launched a military attack on its neighbor, Ukraine, and said kyiv plans to join NATO (NATO) led by the United States threatening Russian national security.
