Trump: I don’t think I described Zellinski as a new dictator

On Thursday, US President Donald Trump reduced the importance of describing him a few days ago, his Ukrainian counterpart, Folomir Zellinski, as a “dictator”, stressing that he had “a lot of respect”.

Upon receipt at the White House, British Prime Minister Kiir Starmer, the journalists of the American president asked questions about the description he gave to Zelinski in an article on his social communication platform, and he replied: “Did you really say that? I don’t think I said it.”

“I think we will have a very good meeting tomorrow morning. We will agree,” he added. Later, at a joint press conference with Starmer, they followed their talks at the Oval Office, said Trump about Zelinski: “I have a lot of respect”.

Trump has always criticized the military and financial aid that his country provided to Ukraine at the time of its predecessor Joe Biden and reached billions of dollars. In recent days, Trump has highlighted his criticism of Zelinski, which has led to his accusation that he was a “dictator” governing his country “without election”.

Trump said a few days ago in an article on his social networking site, “social truth” that Zellinski convinced Washington to spend $ 350 billion to enter an unbalanced war and revealed that the Ukrainian president admitted that “half of the money we sent him, refuses to hold elections and that his support was low”.

He added that it was not necessary to start the war, but it was a war that Zellinski could never settle it without Washington and Trump, noting that the United States is successfully negotiating with Russia to put an end to war “that everyone admits that it can only be done by Trump and his direction”.

“I love Ukraine, but Zelinski did a terrible job, his country was broken and millions of people died unnecessarily,” said the American president.

However, the next visit to Zelinski at the White House, where he will sign an agreement that gives the United States a share of the rights to exploit the richness of Ukraine of rare minerals, Trump adopted a different tone in his speech on his Ukrainian counterpart.

This agreement, that Trump considers a form of compensation for the billions that his country has provided to Ukraine which would give the United States participation in the mineral wealth in which Ukraine abounds.
