President Donald Trump – Wednesday – said he did not believe that NATO membership in Ukraine is a practical thing, adding that kyiv is unlikely to look at all his land, while Europeans replied that they should be part of any negotiation in Ukrainian affairs.
Trump discussed the war in Ukraine – Wednesday – in two phone calls with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin and the Ukrainian foliomir Zellinski, in the first major stage of the American president to diplomacy in a promised struggle to end it.
Trump said Putin expects to meet in the future, and perhaps in Saudi Arabia.
He described his call with Putin as a good conversation and said it had lasted more than an hour.
The office of the Ukrainian president said that Trump and Zelinski had spoken on the phone for about an hour, while the Kremlin said that Putin’s call to Trump lasted almost an hour and a half.
The Kremlin said that Putin and Trump had accepted the meeting and that the Russian president invited his American counterpart to visit Moscow.
There were speculations according to which the two leaders would meet in a third country, where Saudi Arabia and water are considered potential places, according to Russian sources.
Russia launched a war against Ukraine in February 2022. It included Crimea in 2014.
European response
On the other hand, a joint European declaration replied that the countries of the European Union are attached to independence, the sovereignty of Ukraine and territorial integrity in the face of Russian aggression.
The European press release said our common goal should be to put Ukraine in force.
The declaration stressed that Europe and Ukraine should be part of any negotiation, noting that European countries are ready to discuss the future of Ukraine with their American ally.
