On Friday, the Israeli army launched two air strikes targeting two cars in southern Lebanon, killing two people, according to the Lebanese Ministry of Health.
The ministry said one of the two raids was targeting a civilian vehicle on the gas road – Sidon, located more than 50 km from the border with Israel and led to civil death.
As for the second raid, it targeted a car in the Aita region, which borders the southern border and killed another person.
For its part, the Israeli army announced that its planes aimed at a Hezbollah component in the Aita Al -haab region, stressing that it was “eliminated”, without going into additional details.
The army also confirmed that the strike near Sidon led to the murder of Muhammad Jaafar, granting to Asaad Abdullah, member of Hezbollah. The army said that Abdullah was responsible for the publication of party’s communication systems throughout Lebanon, especially in the South.
These developments arise at a time when Israel continues to launch attacks on the sites and elements of Hezbollah, despite the validity of the cease-fire agreement since November 27, 2024. The agreement stipulates the withdrawal of Hezbollah from the south of the Litani river and the dismantling of its military structure, in exchange for the presence of the Lebanese army and the United States.
The Lebanese government has called on the international community to assume its Israel responsibilities and pressure to stop its aggression and total commitment to the terms of the ceasefire agreement, which stipulates that Israel withdraws from 5 border points.
