The repercussions of the October 7, 2023 attack are still being felt within Israeli institutions, as the chief of staff of the occupation army, Herzi Halevy, threatens to resign at the end of this year.
In turn, the commander of a unit of the Israeli Military Intelligence Division, Colonel Yossi Sharel, submitted his resignation from his post due to the failure of the intelligence that preceded the attack.
The resignations come amid deep disagreements between the military and political levels, particularly between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and far-right ministers on the one hand, and the army leadership and Defense Minister Yoav Galant on the other.
