Iran warned that it would target the Chaghus Islands, which includes the American-British British Diego Garcia if the United States launched an attack on its soil, while Great Britain has made this threat.
The Iranian threat came in response to the statement of US President Donald Trump, who promised to take military measures against Tehran if she did not agree with Washington on her nuclear program.
The newspaper Telegraph quoted a high -ranking Iranian military official saying that Tehran would hit the American naval base of Diego Garcia in response to any American attack.
The Iranian official added that there will be no discrimination between the British or American forces if Iran is attacked by a base in the region or in the Iranian missile range, according to the British newspaper.
On the other hand, a spokesperson for the British government stressed the importance of the base in the Indian Ocean, for the security of Great Britain and the United States, stressing the condemnation by London of these threats and his continuous work with partners to encourage the de-subcalation.
The base of Diego Garcia is located on the island of Marjan, the largest islands in the Chaghus archipelago, where Great Britain rented it to its American ally in 1966 for 50 years.
Immediately after its renovation, the United States began to establish a naval and air base on the island, after forcing the inhabitants of the region to leave their homes, between the years (1967-1973), and closed the doors of the island against tourists and the media.
The base was inaugurated in 1977, with a track with a length of 3 thousand and 600 meters for military load planes, as well as a sea port which can accommodate two aircraft holders at the same time.
Great Britain also extended the rental of the island for the United States for an additional 20 years in 2016.

Ghost bombers
According to the newspaper, Satellite Photos has shown the arrival of at least 3 B-2 spirit launchers, also known as “Ghost Bomber”, at the base this week.
Two days ago, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araraqi announced that his country had responded to the message of US President Trump to Iranian chief Ali Khamenei, by Oman’s sultanate.
According to the official Iranian news agency, “Irna”, Araqji confirmed that Tehran will not fall into direct negotiations with the United States under threat and military pressure, but the indirect talks that have already been held can continue.
The Iranian Minister stressed that Tehran had had indirect talks with the United States at the time of the former presidents, Hassan Rouhani and Ibrahim Raisi.
In an interview with Fox Business, on March 7, Trump revealed that he had sent a message to Khamenei, saying: “I wrote to them a message in which I said, I hope you negotiate because our entry into a soldier will be a terrible thing.”
On the 12th of the same month, the diplomatic advisor to President Anwar Gargash, Iranian guide Ali Khamenei, sent a message from the president of Aarshazi, according to Iranian media.
Last February, Trump signed a presidential decree to re -examine a “maximum pressure” policy on Iran with sanctions designed to fail its oil exports.
