The United States has imposed sanctions earlier this year at Muhammad Hamdan Daglo (Hamidati), commander of the rapid support forces, accused of generalized violations, including the genocide.
Hamidati had already shared power with the army and civilian politicians as part of an agreement that followed the overthrow of Omar Al -Bashir in 2019. The two powers overthrew civilian politicians during the coup d’etat 2021 before the start of the war between them, due to disputes during their integration during a transitional stage aimed at moving to democratic domination.
