Israel publishes a news as a Palestinian director winner of the Oscars


On Tuesday, Israeli occupation police released the Palestinian director Hamdan Bilal, one of the participants in the documentary management winner of an Oscar “no other land”, after his arrest and he was subjected to a violent attack by a group of settlers from the village of SSIA, south of the occupied West Bank.

Basil Adra, who participated in Bilal, released the film – on the X platform is a photo of him in the hospital after his release, and his clothes seemed stained with blood.

Adra said: “Hamdan was released while he was currently in Hebron.

In his statements reported by ABC Network after his release, Hamdan Bilal said that “the attack on me was very violent and bleeds everywhere”. He added that the settlers continued to hit him about a third of an hour.

On the charge of “throwing stones” against him by the occupation, Bilal explained: “I did not throw stones or posed a problem with the colonists”, and I stressed that two soldiers of a civil dress shared the colonists by attacking him. “I was afraid and I felt that I would lose my life when they attacked me,” he said.

Ambulance arrest

The occupying forces arrested Palestinian director Hamdan Bilal on Monday, after being violently attacked by a group of settlers from the village of SSIA, according to organizations for the defense of human rights and eyewitnesses.

According to a press release published by the “Jewish Center for Violence”, dozens of settlers have stormed Sussia, located in the Mesafir region, which is threatened with travel, where they attacked the property of the inhabitants, before severely attacking Bilal, which led to the injury of the head and serious bleeding.

Despite his critical state of health, the occupation forces stormed the ambulance that presented itself in Hamdan and arrested him with another Palestinian, in the midst of contradictory reports of his place of detention or his health.

Witnesses indicated that the Israeli occupation army had taken the Palestinian headbands to an unknown destination. “We do not know where Hamdan was because he was taken blindfolded,” said activist Josh Kimman, who was present on the site – Associated Press.

According to the Israeli army, 3 Palestinians were arrested on Monday due to “thrown stones” during a “violent confrontation” between the Israelis and the Palestinians in the village of Sosia in the south of the West Bank, before a police spokesman confirmed to the French news agency that Bilal had been released.

“No other land”

The documentary film “No Land” was filmed in the Muffafar region in Yatta, near Sosya.

And the film “No Land” is a joint production between Palestine and Norway, and led by a quadrilateral composed of the Palestinian duo Basil Adra and Hamdan, and the Israeli duo, Yaval Abraham and Sahar Tsour, which are known for their support activities of the Palestinian cause.

The film is an act of controlling the transmission of the suffering of Palestinians in the face of the practices of the Israeli occupation, because it documents the forced displacement in the Muffafir region in Yatta in the West Bank.

The victory of the documentary “No Land” at the price of the 2025 academy of the best long documentary film sparked a state of joy and pride among the public of Palestinian and Arab communication platforms, while anger and criticism on the Israeli side.
