A Real Madrid fan has vowed to stop supporting Kylian Mbappe, posting a video clip of the Frenchman’s jersey being burned to protest his poor performance in the Royal Club’s 2-0 defeat to Liverpool in the Champions League on Wednesday.
The French striker has yet to impress many Royal Club fans, who feel more than ever that the deal to include the player was a failure.
His suffering intensified on Wednesday night when he took a decisive penalty which was saved by Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher.
The missed penalty came when Real Madrid were leading 0-1.
After the match ended, a social media user said he was fed up with Mbappé’s performance and uploaded a video of Mbappé’s number 9 jersey on fire.
“My support for Kylian Mbappe and my hopes for him are over. I guess anyone who supports him has the IQ of a housefly,” he wrote.

In turn, former Real Madrid and Liverpool star Steve McManaman also criticized the French international.
He said in a statement to TNT Sport: “They needed Mbappé tonight and he was a good deceiver. The Madrid press will be tough because he hasn’t played well yet when they needed him.”
He added: “Real Madrid is going through a difficult phase and the big players are not performing well. All this burden around Mbappé increases that this year.”
On the other hand, and amid the criticism addressed to Mbappé, Jude Bellingham stood up to defend his teammate.
