The “Drop Site News” website said that the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) has brought an unprecedented legal pursuit calling for the British government to delete it from the list of “terrorist organizations” and to recognize its role of Palestinian resistance movement involved in the struggle for self-determination and release.

The site added that the movement used British lawyers to act on it in this trial aimed at canceling its classification of a terrorist organization in Great Britain, which entered into force in 2021.

The classification was limited to the brigades of Al-Qassam, the military wing of Hamas, but the British government considered that the separation of the military and political wings of the “artificial” movement.

Lawyers said the British government should intervene to prevent genocide and crimes against humanity, and work to end the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories, noting that the classification targeting Hamas is contrary to British obligations under international law.

They explained that Hamas is the only active Palestinian armed force and that its classification is a terrorist organization which hinders the capacity of the Palestinians to approach acts of genocide and crimes against humanity that Israel is currently committed to the Palestinians in Gaza.

The site has published a document attached to the case signing the member of the political bureau of the Musa Abu Marzouq movement and dated March 26.

In this document, Abu Marzouq stressed that Hamas is a movement of Palestinian Islamic resistance seeking to release Palestine from the Israeli occupation, not a terrorist organization.

The head of Hamas also stressed that the movement does not target British citizens, whether inside or outside Great Britain, because it is not anti -mitic and does not constitute a threat to Western countries.

A member of the Hamas political bureau said that the movement had not carried out any armed operation outside the historical borders of Palestine.

Abu Marzouq described the decision to prohibit Hamas and to criminalize it as an unjust decision resulting from unconditional support for Zionism, occupation and colonialism in Palestine.
