The head of the Israeli “party camp”, opposition Benny Gantz, said it was time to change the Middle East in coordination with what he described as “our great ally” in the United States, after a report that Israel plans to strike Iranian nuclear sites next month, but American president Donald Trump prevented this.
In an article on his X-platform account, Gantz described the Iranian regime as an “expert in time and procrastination”, since Israel can attack Iran and is able to do so.
Gantz added that Israel and the United States must “mobilize powers to make a change in the Middle East”.
Israeli plan
The New York Times cited officials and sources informed that Israel plans to strike Iranian nuclear sites next month, but Trump prevented this in favor of negotiating an agreement with Tehran to limit his nuclear program.
The American newspaper added that Israeli officials had set plans to attack the sites in May and were optimistic about the approval of the White House.
He also quoted officials from Trump’s administration that Vice-President JD Pours supported with the support of others in a discussion that Trump had a unique opportunity to reach an agreement with Iran. Di Vans said that if talks failed, Trump could support an Israeli attack on Tehran.
The New York Times cited an enlightened source saying that the American intelligence chief John Ratcliffe met Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Mossad chief David Bernie, in Israel, to discuss the options to face Iran, including secret operations with American support and apply strict sanctions.

For his part, the director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Rafael Grossi, warned against Iranian nuclear installations, and he declared after a meeting in Tehran with the Minister of Foreign Affairs Abbas Araqji yesterday: “I think we were very clear about the fact that the attacks on nuclear installations are unacceptable and exacerbated.”
Grusi stressed what he called “radioactive and environmental consequences” which can be caused by strikes, as well as the risk of a complete war.
Although Trump prefers the negotiation option and works to reach an agreement with Iran on his nuclear program, he has not excluded the launch of a military attack if these efforts fail.
A first series of indirect talks between Washington and Tehran was held last Saturday in the Omanaise capital, and Araqji, Steve Witkev (sent by the American president) should hold another series of talks next Saturday.
