Explosions ring out in Tel Aviv after drone infiltration news

|

Loud explosions were heard this Friday evening in Tel Aviv following the infiltration of a drone. The Israeli military has not revealed where it took off from.

The Israeli army has asked Israelis to continue to adhere to the instructions of the Home Front Command.

The military said the explosions were caused by protests or the downing of a drone in Tel Aviv, saying the incident was under investigation, as it said.

Israel’s Channel 13 reported that estimates suggest the infiltration of two explosive drones, adding that at least one was intercepted north of the Gush Dan region in central Israel.

For its part, Israeli Channel 12 reported a power outage in Herzliya, in central Israel, after sirens were activated following a drone infiltration.

Footage shows that a nursing home building in Tel Aviv was damaged by an interceptor missile following an attempt to shoot down the drone, although it is not yet clear who launched it.

Al Jazeera’s correspondent quoted Israeli police as confirming that there were no casualties in the incident, amid Israeli fears that drones could be launched again this evening on Tel Aviv.

In recent days, Hezbollah, the Ansar Allah (Houthis) group and the Islamic resistance in Iraq have targeted Tel Aviv with marches as part of their support for the Gaza Strip, which has been facing Israeli aggression for a year .
