Cold, hunger, diseases and insects… this is how the displaced people live in the center of Gaza City

|

Facing the cold, thousands of displaced Palestinians live a tragic life in tents in the center of Gaza City, where their night is like their day, without water, food, medicine or heat to protect their bodies from the harsh winter. cold.

The whole family lives in one tent, including the young, the old and the sick, and all live in very tragic conditions.

One of the women describes their life as very difficult in the tents, as they lack food and drink and rainwater falls on them, in addition to the spread of insects and waste around them.

The worst thing is that there are families who do not have a tent to protect them from the cold of winter, as is the case of a family living under the rubble of a house destroyed by Israeli occupying forces, after being displaced from Beit Lahia. .

Accompanied by three children, a Palestinian father sat under the rubble of the destroyed house, wearing only a light blanket. He said he had to come to this place with his children, despite his fear that the house would collapse on them because of this. rain and thunder, in addition to cold weather, lack of food, diseases and insects are annoying.

If this is the suffering of the displaced during the day, as reported by Al Jazeera correspondent Muhammad Qariqa, then their suffering at night is beyond description, as this suffering intensifies due to the lack of electricity and heating tools.

Al Jazeera correspondent Anas Al-Sharif monitored the situation of families sleeping on the floor in accommodation centers in eastern Gaza City and said displaced people were being forced to set up tents made up of mattresses in schoolyards.

The images broadcast by Al Jazeera show the serious suffering of these displaced people, because they were in tents and in places unfit for life. A woman sitting with others around a traditional fireplace said they had no blankets or anything to protect themselves. the cold of winter. In addition, rain fell on their tents and insects filled the place.

In addition to the tragic living conditions of the displaced, the Israeli occupation army continues its intensive raids on certain areas of the Gaza Strip, and Palestinian media have confirmed that it has exploded residential buildings in the Al region. -Khalafa and Al-Alami, in Abu Qamar. in the Jabalia camp and in Beit Lahia, in the northern Gaza Strip.

It should be noted that on October 5, the Israeli army launched a ground invasion of the northern Gaza Strip, and observers claim that Israel wants to occupy the northern Gaza Strip and make it a buffer zone after having displaced its inhabitants, under the weight of continuous bloody bombardments and a tight siege that prevents the entry of food, water and medicine.
