Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Al-Safadi said today Monday that his country supports the transition process in Syria, following discussions he held in Damascus with the commander-in-chief of the new administration in Syria , Ahmed Al-Sharaa.
Al-Safadi confirmed – in statements to Al Jazeera – that he was conveying a message to Damascus that Jordan stood with the Syrians in building their state, and that his country supported the transition process and drafting of a new constitution for Syria, “and the transition to a political system that meets all the ambitions of Syrians.
The Jordanian minister explained that he felt during his conversation with Al-Sharaa that he “wants a country in which all Syrians feel safe and equal, that he is aware of the importance of Syrian- Jordanians and underlined its desire for cooperation.
He added that his discussions in Damascus highlighted “the need to build a free homeland that does not contain terrorism and protects the rights of all Syrians,” adding: “We discussed the issue of terrorism and we will be united to face it, because it is a danger that threatens us all. »
Al-Safadi stressed that the two sides agreed to form mechanisms to work together to resolve issues that contribute to helping Syria and to help “make Syria safe and reassured and prepare conditions for the return of refugees.”

Today, Minister of State at the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mohammed Al-Khulaifi, began a visit to Damascus leading a high-level official delegation to hold talks with Syrian officials.
Yesterday Sunday, the Commander-in-Chief of the Syrian administration, Ahmed Al-Sharaa, met with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan in Damascus, while sources told Al Jazeera that Al-Sharaa met with a Saudi delegation including an envoy from the Royal Court. He also received a Lebanese delegation led by the leader of the Progressive Socialist Party, Walid Jumblatt.
The visits of these delegations come against the backdrop of regional and international diplomatic dynamics towards Syria, as the new Syrian administration takes steps to restructure political and security institutions.
