In his reading of military developments in Ukraine, the military and strategic expert, Colonel Hatem Karim Al -falahi, said that the Ukrainian plan had failed to train the Russian forces in a battle in the Russian province of Kursk.
He added that the impetus of Ukrainian forces in Kursk is due to the fact that this region is a strategy, where there is a service station and a nuclear power plant made up of 4 reactors.
As colonel al-Falahi indicates, Russian forces now put pressure on all fronts, because the drop in Western support for Ukraine has affected the performance of its forces, and it puts pressure on the supply and logistical support lines, and it begins from the Ukrainian region of Sumi towards the Corsak region.
On August 6, 2024, Ukraine announced the assault on its borders and the seizure of the Kursk region of the Russian territory, and after its access to more than 7 months in the region, the deterioration of the status of Ukrainian forces in Kursk due to the reduction of their main lines of supply.
Colonel Al -Falahi said Russia is now talking about a buffer zone inside Ukrainian lands to the Sumi region, which means that there are future attacks on its forces in this region.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said that “a buffer area must be considered in the Ukrainian region of Sumi, adjacent to Corsak, to ward off any Ukrainian incursions in the future”.
On the options of the two parties, Colonel Al -Falahi said that the Ukrainian party options are not numerous, and what is now proposed is: “Either the pursuit of battles, which means walking towards a great defeat because of the imbalance of force between the two parties, either go to a break, or wait for European support, because the Americans will not resume their support.”
The Russian option is: “The trend towards a great victory, especially since the Russian forces press all the fronts”.
In the scenario of the continuation of the war, Colonel Al -Falahi said that this meant the exhaustion of the forces of the two parties, the Russian forces and the Ukrainian forces which suffer from a very great disability in supplies, and the Ukrainian forces Olksander Serski declared that “the Russian forces dismissed almost 10,000 shells of 2000”.
In the event that Western support stops Ukraine, he will be before a major defeat that could lead – the military and strategic expert adds – to disarm it, overturn his government and control the land that Moscow wanted, of which Putin spoke.
The Saudi city of Djeddah has recently witnessed the launch of American Ukrainian talks to discuss a cease-fire between kyiv and Moscow, led by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and its Ukrainian counterpart André Sibha.
In addition, Steve Whitchov, the special envoy of American president Donald Trump, during his visit to the Russian capital, Moscow, offered a 30-day ceasefire plan in Ukraine.
