Floods and hurricanes have hit the United States and left 16 dead

On Saturday, a new wave of heavy rains and sudden floods swept away certain parts of the south and west of the United States, which exacerbated the meteorological crisis which started a few days ago and caused fatal hurricanes and damage to serious infrastructure.

Meteorologists have warned that the level of rivers in certain regions will continue to increase in the coming days, which warns against more floods that threaten buildings, roads and bridges.

A 9 -year -old died in Kentucky after being washed on school, and a 74 -year -old man was found dead inside a fully submerged car in the province of Nelson.

In Arkansas, a five -year -old child died in a house in Little Rock in an accident linked to the weather, according to local police.

Destroyed

Hurricane had been destroyed earlier in the week in some states, killing at least 7 people. The floods also affected the movement of the shipment between states, as experts have warned that floods through vital load corridors such as Memphis and Kentucky can disrupt the supply chains.

“We expect it to be one of the 10 worst floods in the history of Louisville,” said the mayor of Louisville, Craig Greenberg.

Emergency warnings and forced evictions

Urgent warnings of the floods have been issued in the States of Arkansas, Mississippi, Tennessee and Kentucky, where they have declared the state of emergency in many regions. Hundreds of roads have been closed in Kentucky due to floods and landslides, while compulsory evacuation was imposed in the city of Walmoth on the Aive river.

Meteorologists have said that violent times were due to a mixture of hot temperatures, unstable atmosphere and high humidity from the Gulf of Mexico, as well as strong winds.

More than 30 centimeters of rain have been recorded in certain parts of Kentucky and 20 centimeters in Arkansas and Missouri. Friday evening, at least two hurricanes were watched, including the hurricane in Bleithfille, Arkansas, where the storm caused by 7.6 kilometers increased in the sky.

This disaster arrives at a time when the national meteorological authority faces an internal crisis, because half of its offices suffer from a lack of employees by 20%, due to the reduction of the administration of President Donald Trump in the campaign to reduce federal jobs, a double rate compared to what it was before.
