Washington repeated his message after Khamenei refused to negotiate under the pressure of “intimidation” | news

The White House renewed its threats to Tehran after the Iranian guide, Ali Khamenei – on Saturday – said that his country would not fall into negotiations under the pressure of “intimidation”, in response to a message from US President Donald Trump.

The spokesman for the National Security Council, Brian Hughes, said in a statement that Tehran’s treatment would be “militarily or by concluding an agreement”, the expression that Trump launched in an interview with The Fox Business Channel earlier.

“We hope that the Iranian regime will put its people and its interests above terrorism,” added Hughes.

The American president – Friday – announced that he had sent a message to the Iranian guide, in which he would choose it between negotiating the nuclear program or facing military action.

Khamenei position

And the official Iranian media said Khamenei said at a meeting with senior Iranian officials that Washington’s offer starts negotiations aims to “impose its desires”.

The Iranian guide – without Trump, to mention by his name – added that “the insistence of certain governments which exerts intimidation on negotiations is not to solve the problems”.

He thought that talks for these governments are a way to submit new requests, it is not only the Iranian nuclear question, that Iran will certainly not accept its desires.

Trump previously expressed his desire to reach an agreement with Tehran, but he imposed a policy of “maximum pressure” which he applied during his first presidential term to isolate Iran from the world economy and whistle his oil exports.

During his first mandate between 2017 and 2021, Trump withdrew from the nuclear agreement concluded with Iran in 2015, which imposed strict restrictions on the nuclear activities of Tehran in exchange for lifting sanctions.
