Guatemala police security authorities – a small country in Central America, in southern Mexico – have arrested one of the most eminent “Lev Tahour” Jewish community figures on the basis of investigations related to ‘Children’s sexual exploitation and human trafficking.
According to a new reported by the Turkish Turkish Turkish World Network Turkish, Yoel Uter (35) was arrested in front of the country treatment center in the country in the capital of Guatemala at the start of this week.
The Turkish chain quoted Guatemala police saying that a Uter had been arrested in coordination with the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol), which is sought in Mexico for human trafficking. It should soon be delivered to the Mexican authorities.
According to managers of the prosecution of Guatemala, at least 148 children were placed in the preventive crisis after being separated from their parents accused sexually their sexual assessments, and the children will remain under the protection of the state during the investigation period .
“On the basis of complainants’ statements, obtained evidence and medical examinations, these children are proven to be exposed to a form of human trafficking crime such as forced marriage, abuses and related crimes”, said Nancy Bayz, a prosecutor of the human trafficking office in Guatemala, said in a statement.

Other arrests
The Guatemali authorities announced during the last month the arrest of the Aaron Tiller community for human trafficking, according to the newspaper “Times of Israel”.
Salvador police also arrested the community member, Jonathan Emmanuel Cardona Castillo, who faces the sexual exploitation of children and rape in Guatemala.
In December 2024, Guatemali police stormed the sect complex in Santa Rosa and placed 160 children and 40 women under the protection of the state suspected of having been subjected to violations, including attacks sexual.
Lev Tahhar is a hard Jewish sect (of the Haridim) involved in the abuse of children, rape, forced marriage and the trafficking of human beings.
The sect was founded in Israel by the Rabbi Shlomo Hilbrans in the 80s of the last century, but then moved from there to the United States and Canada, then in Latin America.
It is believed that the sect, which is active in several countries, including the United States, Guatemala and Mexico, includes between 300 and 350 members.
The sect imposes close control over its members, limits their education and their interactions with foreigners, but rather forced some of them to marry minors.
In 2022, the Mexican authorities made a descent into the complex of a sect in the state of Chiabas near the border with Guatemala to save children and adolescents who were seated in poor conditions.
