Reveal details of failed attempt to recover Israeli prisoner in Gaza

Israel’s Channel 12 revealed that a year ago the Israeli army attempted to free a kidnapped person in the Gaza Strip after obtaining intelligence information, but the operation ended in the assassination of prisoner Saher Baruch.

The channel explained that soldiers from the army’s special unit thought they were going on a mission to free kidnapped Noa Arghmani, but it turned out that the intelligence information was false.

It was reported that the forces attacked a building in Gaza and were subjected, during an entry attempt, to heavy fire, which transformed the so-called liberation operation into an evacuation of the wounded, during which two soldiers were seriously injured.

The Israeli channel confirmed that so far it is not known whether the prisoner was killed by army fire or by gunfire from the kidnappers.

In the recent period, dozens of Israeli prisoners have been killed in Gaza following bombings or during Israeli operations inside the Gaza Strip, and some of them were killed during attempts unsuccessful in freeing them.

At the beginning of last September, a state of anger reigned in Israel against the government of Benjamin Netanyahu after the occupying army announced the recovery of the bodies of 6 detainees found in a tunnel in the Gaza Strip.

The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) announced that the prisoners had been killed by the ongoing Israeli bombardment of the Gaza Strip and held the Netanyahu government and the US administration responsible for their killing and that of the prisoners who preceded them.

Hamas has said in previous statements that dozens of prisoners were killed following Israeli bombardments of the Gaza Strip during the 11-month-old war.

With each announcement that the Israeli army has recovered the bodies of Gaza prisoners, protests in Israel intensify and accusations are leveled against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of obstructing the prisoner exchange and cease negotiations -fire.
