Orgies and Talmudic prayers… incursions and massive attacks by settlers in the West Bank | news

In the early hours of Sunday morning, Israeli settlers and soldiers stormed several villages and towns in various parts of the occupied West Bank, causing clashes and injuries among Palestinians.

In Hebron, in the southern West Bank, an Al Jazeera correspondent said settlers stormed the Old City, performed prayers and Talmudic rituals and spread out into the city’s streets and alleys under the protection of occupation army forces, which forced merchants to close their shops and set up checkpoints at several locations.

Settlers storm Hebron’s Old City every Saturday in an attempt to impose more control over the city and change the status quo in the area.

Local sources reported that a group of extremist settlers held orgies in the streets and alleys, threw stones at Palestinians and attacked them and their homes in the Wadi al-Hussein and Jaber neighborhoods in the Old City of Hebron.

In the northern West Bank, the official Palestinian news agency (Wafa) said dozens of settlers stormed Jabal al-Ras, in the village of Umm Safa, north of Ramallah, and fired live ammunition at residents’ homes.

The agency quoted the head of the village’s local council, Marwan Sabah, as saying that two young men suffered bruises and fractures as they tried to move away from the targeted area, and were later transferred to hospital.

Northwest of Ramallah, the occupation army stormed the village of Deir Abu Mishal, “without any arrests or clashes being reported,” according to Wafa.

Tulkarem and Nablus

In Tulkarem, the agency reported that the town of Zeita, north of the city, witnessed clashes between residents and occupation soldiers, who “fired live ammunition and poison gas bombs, but no injuries were reported.”

It added: “Three villages south of Nablus were attacked by the Israeli army: Madama, Urif and Yatma.” The agency noted that houses were raided and searched and clashes broke out, “but no injuries or arrests were reported.”

Since the outbreak of the war in the Gaza Strip on October 7, the Israeli army and settlers have intensified their attacks on Palestinian citizens and their property in the West Bank, including occupied Jerusalem, leaving hundreds dead and thousands injured, according to data from the Palestinian Ministry of Health.

With American support, since October 7, Israel has been waging a devastating war against Gaza that has left more than 136,000 Palestinians martyred and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 10,000 missing, in a context of massive destruction and deadly famine.

In defiance of the international community, Israel continues the war, ignoring the UN Security Council resolution to end it immediately, as well as the orders of the International Court of Justice to take measures to prevent acts of genocide and improve the catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza.
